On Thursday, June 16, DCA will present a screening of Wisconsin Public Television’s “Wisconsin Hometown Stories: Door County.” Prior to the screening, The Link Gallery of Children’s Art will open a new exhibit of Door County student work entitled “The Colors of Our Lives: Door County, My Home.”
“Hometown Stories: Door County” documents the region’s history for future generations, while helping residents throughout the state understand what makes the region distinct. “Hometown Stories: Door County” was made possible thanks to more than a dozen Door County history groups actively engaged in the project and through facilitation provided by The Heritage Alliance of Door County. The screening, which will include a post-show Q&A with members of Wisconsin Public Television’s creative team, is presented in partnership with the Ephraim Historical Foundation and the Heritage Alliance of Door County as part of Ephraim Heritage Days.
Beginning at 6 p.m., prior to the screening, the community is also invited to an opening reception for “The Colors of Our Lives: Door County, My Home,” the latest exhibit in The Link Gallery of Children’s Art. Each of Door County’s five school districts has submitted student art representing public places in Door County that are special to the student artists and the community. Light refreshments will be served. The exhibit will be on display from June through September. The gallery is open Monday-Friday, 12-5 p.m., and 12 p.m. until showtime on DCA performance days. The Link Gallery of Children’s Art is a collaboration of DCA, Gibraltar Schools, and Friends of Gibraltar.
The screening will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 16. The screening and reception are free, but donations are encouraged. More information can be found at the DCA box office, located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek. The box office is open Monday-Friday, 12-5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in person, on the phone at (920) 868-2728, or online at www.dcauditorium.org.
