The Glenn Miller Orchestra

With its legendary jazz sound, The Glenn Miller Orchestra is considered one of the greatest swing bands of all time.  Formed in 1938 under the direction of trombonist, bandleader, and composer Glenn Miller, the band became popular for its sweet sounds, harmonious vocals, and smooth arrangements.  Some of the band’s best-known hit recordings include Tuxedo Junction, In the Mood, Pennsylvania 6-5000, and their signature piece Moonlight Serenade.  The band’s recording Chattanooga Choo Choo earned Glenn Miller his first Gold record in 1942.
