Celebrating Our Rich History
Door Community Auditorium is a testament to the power of community and the generosity of the 1,200+ donors whose names grace our walls. Nestled within Gibraltar School, our venue has a stellar reputation for artistic and cultural events.
Since 1991, we have hosted unforgettable performances by legends as well as rising stars, community theatre, regional icons, community and student performances, and diverse cultural groups, including Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Indigo Girls, Peninsula Music Festival, The Lumineers, and Brandi Carlile.
Door Community Auditorium Expansion Plan
All arts aficionados know that a powerful performance deserves an encore.
We established the Door Community Auditorium Encore Campaign to build a second performance venue, education center, and reception hall to extend our programming.
We’re carefully planning every detail to meet our growing needs and improve visitor experiences. This new venue will elevate our mission of providing diverse cultural experiences while fostering community connections.
Join us in making this vision a reality by contributing to our capital campaign. Your support will help us bring this new chapter to life!

Cari Lewis
Executive Director
-
Cari Lewis is a mom, wife, believer in love and music, and admirer of trees and shiny old people. The executive director of Door Community Auditorium since late 2010, Cari’s path started in the Ozarks (she was the 1991 Hootin’ n’ Hollarin’ Queen); before meandering to Michigan’s Interlochen Arts Academy (where she studied trumpet and later returned to work in their alumni office); Ohio’s Baldwin-Wallace College (where she rose to prominence as an excellent coffee slinger and mediocre basement crooner while completing her arts management degree); Cleveland Opera (where she sold and coordinated children’s opera productions); and southern Oregon’s Ross Ragland Theater (where she got her first management role with a performing arts center).

ADAM Hutchinson
Technical Director
-
Adam’s background spans from winemaker to friendly bartender, production potter to deejay, museum preparator to facilities manager; all synthesizing as DCA’s newest technical director.
Combining his BFA in filmmaking and MFA in studio arts has provided him with a deep respect for all music genres, performing arts, and theater production.
A Wisconsin native (go Cheesemakers) and Door County transplant - Adam believes listening can be an act of love.
Nick Hoover
Box Office Manager
-
Nick’s time with DCA began in 2016, assisting Technical Director Kurt Thomas, setting up microphones and running cables, something he is well versed in through his work as a performing musician. His involvement has grown steadily over time, evolving into his role today as Box Office Manager and Production Assistant, in addition to being a member of the DCA Programming Committee.
In his spare time, the Door County native enjoys singing and playing music, tinkering with his car and computers, and finding himself the woods.
JIMMY Balistreri
Production Manager
-
Jimmy’s first experience at the DCA was as a production intern for Northern Sky Theater’s fall production of Muskie Love in 2018. He has been living on-and-off in Door County since 2016, and has been a full-time resident since 2024.
A freelance lighting designer and stage manager outside of the DCA, he brings a broad range of experiences to support the artists on the DCA stage. Jimmy holds an MFA in Lighting Design from UC-Irvine and a BA in Theater from Ripon College. He has turned lights on and off in theaters across the country, including The Milwaukee Rep, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, South Coast Repertory, Great River Shakespeare, and Golden State Ballet. Locally, he has been a part of numerous productions at Third Avenue Playworks and Northern Sky Theater.
He is excited to be a part of the vibrant arts community here at the DCA. Go Pack Go!
