The members of Cool Bay Jazz, pianist Tim Fox, singer Deirdre Fellner, bassist Dennis Keith Johnson, drummer Bill Knipfer, and guitarist John Lewis, had careers in music in a number of cities around the country and, happily, ended up in Door County at the same time.
Among the local, sizable artistic community, they found like-minded musicians wanting to play some jazz. Their approach is an eclectic one, a big umbrella under which styles from various decades and musical cultures are fair game. With an extensive and constantly expanding repertoire, CBJ has been attracting audiences curious to discover what musical delights may be heard on any given night.
