Play It Forward for Pete

  • Door Community Audtorium 3926 Wisconsin 42 Fish Creek, WI, 54212 (map)

Freewill donations for Fountain of Fellowship encouraged

Door Community Auditorium brings Play It Forward back to our stage to honor the memory of Pete Thelen, our beloved friend, committee member, and co-founder of the Play It Forward concerts.

These shows bring together some of Door County’s favorite musicians to showcase their prodigious talents in an evening that celebrates community and musicality. Originally inspired by the life and legacy of Bo Johnson, a young Sister Bay resident who died in 2012, Play It Forward does just that: participating musicians donate their time, and proceeds from the evening go to benefit a worthy cause.

This year’s concert celebrates the life and legacy of Pete Thelen — a longtime organizer, performer, and friend to so many in our music community. The evening will feature performances by more than a dozen of Door County’s favorite artists, all donating their time and talent to benefit a cause close to Pete’s heart: Fountain of Fellowship, the organization he founded to “feed, clothe and shelter our less fortunate brothers and sisters, and help protect our planet.”

The concert lineup includes: Rob Roy Campbell & Vinni Hancock, Hans Christian, Zephyr Ciesar, Katie Dahl, Julian Hagen, Lucy Hagen Stary, Nick Hoover and Jess Holland, Small Forest, Ben Larsen, John Rood Lewis, Mark Raddatz, Dorothy Scott, Billy Dave Sherman (aka Billy Dave), Paul Sowinski, Spike & April, Thor Thoreson, Wild Horses with Johnny O, Paul Taylor, Katherine Thelen, and a few other surprises.

Since its beginning in 2013, Play It Forward has embodied the best of Door County — community, generosity, and the joy of making music together.

There’s no charge to attend, but freewill donations are encouraged.

Join us as we play it forward — for Pete, for our community, and for good.
